The news that gets the most attention these days appears to be negative, to be a loss of conscience or tragic. There are those who fight to make the lives of others better. Those are the people we need to see more of, to read more about and possibly being that kick in the butt we all need to center on those who need our help. One such charity, right here in our Upper Darby community, Love without a Doubt is helping those in need and this Saturday, they are reaching out to our community once more.

The goal of Love without a Doubt is a religious based group whose faith has taught them to help others, to help those in need, and to feed those who are hungry. Taikeya Johnson, Shaniya Johnson and Mymose Dorsa are the founders whose faith in Jesus Christ taught them to think of those without and to give to the less fortunate. Taikeya Johnson states that the Lord’s goal was to spread love and help feed his Children. Taikeya states that “this year our Father had us join an organization called Master’s Commission Urban CDC for our 2nd Love Without a Doubt. This Upper Darby community event will be Saturday June 24th at Highland Park Elementary School from noon until 5 p.m.  The theme that this year’s benefit is taken from the scripture Matthew 5:3, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (NKJV).”

The women who have created this community event only want “to unify the Upper Darby Community; and spread the love of God through Jesus Christ with people of All ages and backgrounds.” These three women do not ask for credit for their good deeds. Far from it. They first point out those who have volunteered their time, those who donated food and anyone who has taken time to help the event come to be this Saturday. The event is a BBQ and will feature activities, games, music, and empowerment speaker Bishop J.T. Cohen. The event is free to all so why not take some time to get to know your neighbors, be inspired to help others and open your heart.
