“There is No Proof That Trump Was Wiretapped,” House Intel Chief Said

Friday morning, Representative Adam Schiff, ranking member of the Intelligence Committee and Representative Devin Nunes, the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee held a briefing with reporters after a meeting with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, detailing that when President Donald Trump tweeted, “How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!” on March 4th, 2017 he had no proof and there isn’t any proof that President Obama never authorized a “wiretap” of the Trump campaign.

Representative Nunes spoke on the issue and said the President was clearly wrong when the President stated that “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”  The Trump administration has not issued a reply, yet, on what the two Representatives were stating but there is talk that the tweet was not be literally taken. Nunes said at the news conference that, “”We don’t have any evidence that that took place and in fact I don’t believe — just in the last week of time, the people we’ve talked to — I don’t think there was an actual tap of Trump Tower.”

Sean Spicer, the White House Press Secretary had stated, “I think there’s no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 election.” Continuing Spicer stated that “the President used the word wiretaps in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities.” Also on Tuesday Spicer stated that, “I think there’s no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 election.” Spicer also stated that “the President used the word wiretaps in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities.”  Yet only a week ago, Spicer stated the tweets that Trump sent out “speak for themselves.”
