The man who shot President Ronald Reagan is scheduled to leave a Washington D.C. mental hospital Saturday.

Early this year, a federal judge ruled that 61-year-old John Hinkley is not a danger to himself or the public.

Hinkley has been in a mental facility for more than 35-years.

He is set to live full-time at his mother’s home in Williamsburg, Virginia.

His long time lawyer says Hinkley will be quote… “A citizen about whom we can all be proud.”
