JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A Jersey City woman has been charged after her toddler was found dead in her crib Tuesday afternoon.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said police were called around noon to the home on Union Street in Jersey City for a possible death.

When police arrived, they found the lifeless body of the 2-year-old girl. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested Tracey Mitchell, 23, and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child and child abuse.
